Hello my dear listeners and welcome to the Kapal Gupta Career Pod Show where we explore simple yet powerful ways to achieve success in life. And I'm your host, Kapal Gupta, and today we are talking about something that can literally change your life. Vision boats. You know how we all have big dreams? Maybe to get into the best college, land a dream job, buy a fancy car, travel the world, or even just be happier in life. But let's be honest. Most of the time those dreams remain just that. Dreams. But what if I told you there's a way to turn those dreams into reality? A way to train your brain to attract what you desire. That's exactly what a vision board does. So stay with me till the end of this podcast because today I'll break down what is a vision board and how does it work, the science behind, why it helps you achieve your goals, then step-by-step guide to make your own vision board and real life stories of people who achieve their dreams using vision boards and of course common mistakes to avoid. So by the end of this podcast, you will have all the tools to create your own vision board and start manifesting your dream life. I'm on a mission to coach and mentor 100,000 high school students and help them realize their dream of studying in the best universities of the world and build happy and successful careers for themselves. So, first things first, what is a vision board and why do you need one? Imagine you're going on a road trip but you don't have a map. How will you reach your destination? So a vision board is like a GPS for your dreams. It gives you clarity, direction, and motivation. So we can definitely define a vision board as a visual representation of your goals. It's a collage of pictures, words and affirmations that represent what you want to achieve. And instead of just thinking about success, a vision board lets you see it, feel it, and believe it every single day. And that's where the magic begins. And did you know that vision boards have been around for centuries? Even Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, talked about the power of visualization. Later, the law of attraction became a big deal and celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Jim Carrey, and Steve Harvey credited vision boards for their success. So now let's understand the science behind vision boards and how does it work. I'm sure you must be very curious to know it. So many people think vision boards are just wishful thinking, but science proves otherwise. When you repeatedly see and focus on an image, your brain starts believing it is real and finds ways to make it happen. Neuroscientists call this the reticular activating system. Yeah, popularly known as RAS, a part of your brain that filters information and focuses on things important to you. Ever noticed that when you decide to buy a red car, suddenly you see red cars everywhere, and that's your RAS at work. And when you create a vision board, your brain starts noticing opportunities, people, and ideas that help you achieve your goals. The universe will give you what you think about most, Ronda Byrne, author of The Secret, said it. And if you constantly think about success, you start taking small subconscious actions toward it. Vision boards help you align your thoughts, emotions, and actions with your dreams. So the question is what should you put on your vision board? So now let's get creative. Images and words, pictures, that is, photos of things you want, dream house, dream college, happy relationships, fitness goals, words and quotes, motivational quotes, powers like success, wealth, growth, affirmations. That is, I am confident, I am financially free, I am living my dream life. Your vision board should be a mirror of your soul. So don't just put random pictures, choose things that truly matter to you. So now let's talk about vision boards that can be both digital and physical. Because of course, in the era of technology, we cannot miss out on the digital boards. A physical board is like if you really want to create a physical one, stick pictures on a coke board or a big chart paper that can be that simple. An additional board, use Pinterest, Canva, or even a phone wallpaper as your vision board. Because and I'm using a phone wallpaper, I created it in Canva and then put up on my phone. So that was that easy. And now the question is how to make a powerful vision board. So creating a vision board is easy. Just follow these steps. So I'm making everything easy for you. Step one, set clear goals. Ask yourself, what do I want to achieve this year? Or what are my short-term and long-term goals? Or it can be how do I want to feel? Then step number two, gather materials. Magazines, newspapers, printouts, sketch pens, glue, stickers. Just get creative. Then step number three, design and layout. Make it colorful and attractive. Arrange your goals in different sections, careers, relationships, fitness, personal growth, etc. And step four, place it where you can see it daily. And this step is like one of the most important steps because it's not like that you created a vision board and forgot about it. No, your vision board should be in a visible place. Your study desk, bedroom, or let's say a phone, wallpaper. That's how I use it. Then let's talk about some real life success stories. Jim Carrey, before becoming famous, he wrote himself a $10 million check for acting services rendered. And a few years later, he got paid exactly that for Dumb and Dumba. The Nopra Winfrey, she used vision boats to manifest her success, and now she teaches others to do the same. Then there are many Indian influencers, like many Indian entrepreneurs and actors like Sandeep Maheshwari and Priyanka Chopra, swear by visualization. Then comes how to use it. That for example, we have created it, it's looking lovely, very colorful, and we are resonating. But how to make use of that vision board daily comes the next question. So let's have a morning ritual. Spend five minutes looking at your board every morning. Feel the emotion, don't just look. Believe you've already achieved it, and that will automatically give you a feeling of happiness. Your day will begin at a very, very bright note. Then take action. A vision board alone won't work. You must put in the effort. So don't go back to sleep after watching the vision board. Okay? And then as we are human beings, we are bound to make some mistakes. So there are some common mistakes and myths about vision boards too. Mistake number one, just making it and forgetting about it. So the solution is look at it daily and visualize your goals. Then mistake number two, being unrealistic. And the solution is have big dreams but set actionable goals. Then mistake number three, thinking it's magic. No, it's not magic. It's science plus effort. Now let me share some expert insights, like by Dr. Joe Dispenza, he's a neuroscientist, that visualization rewires your brain to create a new reality. Then Tony Robbins, a well-known, renowned motivational speaker, where focus goes, energy flows. Psychologists say that visualization increases motivation and reduces stress by making goals feel more achievable. And now let me share a bonus tip that will supercharge your vision board. Use mindfulness. Meditate on your vision board daily. Write a journal. Write down progress and small wins. Use music. Play uplifting songs while visualizing. So, alright, my friends, we have covered a lot today. Vision boards are powerful tools that can shape your future. They train your brain to focus on success. And with daily visualization and action, your dream will come true. And if you found this episode helpful, follow the Kapil Gupta Career Pod Show and share it with your friends.
