If you develop the habit of taking action, you become an action oriented person. If you keep on trying, nothing can stop you from being successful.
If you study successful people and do what they do, you’ll be more successful. If you study unsuccessful people and avoid doing what they do, then you will not be a failure.
Would you like to be successful? Who won't be? Isn't it? Now let me tell you a secret. If you develop the habit of taking action, you become an action-oriented person. And if you keep on trying, nothing can stop you from being successful. And if you study successful people and do what they do, you will be more successful. And if you study unsuccessful people and avoid doing what they do, then you will not be a failure. Today I was listening to one of the speeches of Brian Tracy, the great motivational speaker, and I couldn't stop myself from sharing the golden nuggets I got it from him. He summarized success with 10 principles. So today I'll introduce you to those 10 principles. And if we act on them, practice them, your success will become predictable. And after all, who doesn't want to be successful in life and business? And I believe you will have precious nuggets to note down. So please bring in your pen and paper, and till then I shall wait for you. Hello all. So according to him, use them to the extent that it becomes your habit. It becomes part of you. They become part of your personality. So let's begin. So principle number one, that is clarity. It means clarity of thinking. It means knowing what a person wishes to do or achieve in life. He doesn't live in confusion. And this is an important personality trait of successful people. So they know what they wish to achieve in life. Principle two, that is competence. And it's the ability to excel in what you do. You'll not find a successful person who is not excellent in whatever he does. It's very simple that you can earn a lot of money only when you are good at what you do. So it's an indispensable trait that to be successful we must commit to be excellent in whatever field we are in. And with that we come to principle number three, and that is concentration. And it's the ability to focus on one thing at a time. It's the ability to do one thing at a time. One mustn't be distracted by things around. Nowadays, people have mobile phones to get them distracted. All the time, apps are sending notifications that break that focus. So it's mandatory to put away a mobile phone while at work to stay focused. Successful people always focus on top things. And other than that, it's a waste of time. So time management is actually life management. And you can achieve everything in life if you learn to manage time. Learning to focus, concentrate, and discipline yourself can actually lead to success. And nothing great has ever been achieved without it. So D Vitka, we come to principle number four, and that is common sense, and all of you must have actually heard about it a lot. Yes, one can train our mind to have common sense. One can train their mind to think things through before acting. One must not take mindless steps. Every step or action must be fully thought of. One must learn to trust his or her intuition. So most of the time, intuition gives the correct solution to every problem. It's like a God sent message. Principle number five, creativity. Accept that fact that each of each one of us is creative. People sometimes feel that doing drawing, sketching, or painting is being creative, which is actually not true. In fact, I'll say it's just part of the truth. The way we respond to different situations is also being creative. Different people respond differently in similar situations, as everyone is creative, and everyone is a different being altogether. Many a times we are full of curiosity. We ask questions. Curiosity gives birth to creativity. You must have seen that some children ask too many questions. And if we have such people around them who quench this thirst, they become bright individuals later in life. But many a times parents aren't able to answer them or are too busy to respond. Such kids stop asking questions. And unknowingly, such parents do gross injustice to their kids. And we must understand asking questions gives us information, and this is an ever-changing world. So even the business practices change over time. One way to update ourselves is to ask questions. So most successful habits keep this practice when they grow old. Principle number six. So this brings us to the next principle: continuous learning. And this is the path to development. Self-made billionaires or millionaires spend 60 to 90 minutes every day reading or learning new things related to their field. Now, one such example is Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world history. He used to read 500 pages every day. We must listen to series or apps like Audible where you can listen on demand. One should listen to ideas of successful people and then put them into practice. As someone has said, one idea can change the world. That comes to principle number seven, and that is consistency. Yes, it is a must. It means you are steady, it means you're dependable. It's much better than flashes of excellence and expertise. All of us have heard the story of the rabbit and the tortoise. With consistency, even a tortoise could win the race. We must be consistent with our family, colleagues, and actions. You must be Mr. Dependable. You should be a person that if you have undertaken a task, people should consider it as done. You must be a man of your words. So consistency is the key to success. Principle number eight, and that is commitment. To make a commitment and then follow it is the hardest thing to do. One makes a commitment to the family, to friends, or to work. So wherever the person falters, that destroys that relationship. No success is possible without commitment. Most successful people pick the work they love, they specialize in their work, they become good in it, so eventually get paid well for it, and then finally held on to that money. And they were continuously getting paid well, and they didn't siphon off that money on reckless spending or gambling, and finally they become millionaires. And most successful people don't even come to know when they actually become millionaires. With that, we come to principle number nine, that is courage. And it's the outstanding ability of all leaders, it's the ability to confront your fears, it's the ability to face your fears and not shy away from it. It's the ability to master them, win over them. And if you are afraid and you back away, it becomes the habit and you'll never be able to win over them and be a failure. But if you face your fear, confront it, that will also become a habit and you will become a winner. Then no fear can be, you know, an obstacle in your life. You'll find that most fears disappear when you confront them. So courage is the ability that keeps you going on till you meet with success. And we then come to principle number 10, the last one, and that is confidence. Yes, we must go confidently in the direction of our dreams. Act as though it's impossible to fail. And at the end, I shall say, never give up. Develop this habit. In the initial stages, you might find it difficult, but keep going. Make it a habit of not giving up, and success is guaranteed, and even success will become a habit. So I hope you find this podcast useful.
