An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful practical work related to a student's field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development and to learn new skills. Now we usually talk about two types of internships based on geographical locations. One can be domestic internships that are like in our own country, and two, study abroad internships, that is, one goes to another country. Now talking about internships on the basis of learning, we can again divide them into two. And one is academia-led internships that are conducted by universities, and secondly, corporate-led internships that are conducted by corporates. Now, these internships and especially the academia led internships can go a long way in bolstering the learning of students and help them in their growth. Now they're not very common in a country, but very popular and helpful in universities abroad. As Benjamin Franklin once said, Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, and involve me, I learn. So these internships actually involve the students. So today I'm going to tell you six reasons that would help you understand the reasons for academia-led internships from abroad. So please bring in your pen and paper and note down all of them. Until then, I shall wait for you. Hello all. So today I'm going to give you six reasons that bring about a huge change in a student's life by such internships. And I believe all of you are ready to note down these reasons. So let's get started. And if you need to pause the podcast to note down, please do that. Reason one focus on technical and life skills. That is, these internships are based on highly demanding skills. For example, cybersecurity, cryptography, IoT, thermodynamics, agricultural IoT, business modeling, etc. Now these not only upskill students but also lead to increase in their focus and life skills. Then reason number two, that is innovation and creativity. Now these academic internships lead to this quality, or I can say lead to develop this quality. They lead to improved academic performance. They also help students improve their language and gain fluency in any other foreign language. Now, this experience can make them more attractive to future employers and open new job opportunities. It helps students to participate in research projects which can help them develop research skills and gain valuable research experience. Then, reason number three that is the ability of self-learning. Living and working in a foreign country can be a challenging and transformative experience for students. Now, this can help students develop independence, self-confidence, and resilience, which can benefit them both personally and professionally. Now, this experience can help students build their resumes and make them more attractive to future employers. Then reason number four, that is international exposure and teamwork. Now it provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture and gain a better understanding of different ways of life. Now, this experience can broaden students' perspectives and make them more open-minded. This also helps to create a pool of talented and motivated students who can bring fresh ideas and perspectives to their work. Then reason number five that is self-dependent motivation and discipline. Now, these academia-led internships from abroad provide students with the opportunity to network with professionals from around the world. Now, this experience can help students build a global network of contacts which can be useful in their future careers. And then last, that is reason number six, a person can evolve as a design or product development professional. That is, interning abroad can help students explore different career paths and industries in global context. This experience can help students make more informed decisions about their future careers and give them a competitive edge in the global job market. Overall, academia-led internships can be a valuable experience for both students and universities, providing opportunities for learning, networking, and professional development. They also offer unique benefits that can help students develop important skills for their future careers.
